Different angles on Benchmade 945

I have a recently purchased 945 that came from the factory with decent sharpness. Afte two weeks of using it I decided to sharpen it back up and that's when the fun started. After marking both sides with a sharpie I noticed 1 side was 15 degrees and the other is 19. Is this normal? What's the beast way to fix this. I am using a worksharp precision adjust for this task.

I can’t say if it is normal for that brand and model, but having asymmetric sharpening out of the box is not rare IME. Even asymmetric dullness!

With a case like this do you just sharpen each side at its corresponding angle?

Because they hit these with a power wheel it's not uncommon. I would say if possible try to shoot for 18/19 per side. You'll need to spend more time on the 19 side to help shave it down. But you'll need to flip back and forth still in order to try to keep them the same. I'll say my 940 had 1 side that was steeper than the other, I could tell by the size of the sharpening angle being about 30% different from the other side.

Thanks everyone. I bit the bullet and di it myself with sending it back to benchmade since I am very new to sharpening. I set it to 19 degrees and dis both sides as suggested and it came out great.
