I have a new BA-E,but recently I have seen some badger's with diff blades.Mine measures under 5 inches while others report 5.5 inches, also there is one on the for sale forums on KF that has a bigger gap between the talon hole and the blade. Please keep in mind I am talking about the new BA-E's and not the older.

I caught that one with the finger relief as well; always wanted that on mine. I was going to have a friend's machine shop do it, but had concerns about affecting the heat treat and warranty.

Hope someone can give us an intel dump here.

hey guys, just read the post and mine doesn't have that size of "finger choil" either....just perhaps big enough for my pinky to fit sideways, but it's a pinch.

Notice on the one pictured (knifeforums post previously mentioned), the finish just in the finger cut out area, is satin finished (only around the front talon hole, and thru the cut out to the edge)....looks like it got a little "special treatment" after it was coated, prior to going out the door.

I think I'm kinda jelous, though at least the bigger blades come with them "standard". I don't know about my blade length (too lazy to check right now), but it would seem strange that they would vary by so much as an inch, perhaps this "difference" is the result of different measuring techniques? To be honest, I don't know how one goes about getting the correct, or right, one.
