Different Busse Choils?

I've seen a bunch of different choils on Busse(kin) blades. I still have no clue what the purpose of those mini/elf choils is...?

But when looking at the flat choil on something like the Team Gemini and the "full choil" that is rounded on the Boss Jack...is there a reason they are different? Does each yield a different capability?

Thanks

Think of the small choils as sharpening notches

I believe the flatter choil on the team Gemini is simply to make it look more like the traditional Bowie knives. Just speculation though

I look at the elf choil as a tree rat foot removal tool. It's actually an option from a Georgian knife maker friend of mine. Just wedge the ankle in there & snap. The foot comes off with his pj's.

Now I'm looking at my Regulator's choil, which I know is a SYKCO knife...but it's got an odd ear lobe looking choil...

My guess is that the flattened choil on the TG is simply a style choice, as it helps accentuate the look of the guard.

That was my guess, though poorly worded since I was on my phone at the time :p
But if you think this is only good on the TG, wait till you see what I've got coming from the Custom Shop!
