I see a lot of talk about the blue scothbrite pads, I try and find them locally and they always point me to the cleaning section and all I can find is green ones.

Anyone recommend local places that would have the blue, red, other colors?

Thank you

Have you tried the painting (i.e. where they have sandpaper, steel wool, sanding blocks, scotchbrite, etc.) section in your hardware store?

They have them here locally in Norco, a welding supply and medical gas supply store.

Yes in paint stores. I buy the red and green ones at Sherwin Williams paint stores. I also used them to clean off old gasket material and surfaces on motors and parts.

they're available at Grainger's if you have one of those locally.

"Synthetic steel wool" is the thing to ask for, if the store you are at carries another brand besides 3m/Scotch Brite.

I would try your local Grainger, MSC, Fastenal, ENCO etc... or else paint/auto body supply places like the other fellows said; check your yellow pages. They will likely be cheaper by the box at a place like that, than in a small package at HD or Lowe's anyway. It's also called "non-woven abrasive". I believe Norton's similar product is called "BearTex".
