Different Impulse clip styles?

I was looking at an Impulse at the knife shop yesterday and was very surprised to find that it had a clip that is much different than the ones I see pictured on the internet. Instead of being the deep carry style shown below, it had a straight piece of metal serving as the clip secured with two screws, one large and one small. Also, the area around the clip wasn't nearly as rounded and contoured.
May the specimen I saw be an early production version or a recent design change?

You probably saw one of the medium sized ones. They don't have all the contouring on the clip side that the big one has.

Any news on the mini in frame lock style?
