I was asked by another member to post this to show how I did this:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=650542&page=19

first wrap around the handle a few times.

then go around those a couple times
25090_10150161369255486_704575485_11782958_3166710_n.jpg

then wrap it around those two like so
25090_10150161369260486_704575485_11782959_1686612_n.jpg

25090_10150161369265486_704575485_11782960_1010095_n.jpg

then repeat that on the other side
25090_10150161369280486_704575485_11782962_948738_n.jpg

so now it should look something like this
25090_10150161369285486_704575485_11782963_2714970_n.jpg

so then you just tuck or melt the two ends however you see fit.

And there it is.
My whole reasoning behind this wrap was that I don't like the cord to be in the choil and also to try and simulate what the micarta scales do by putting just a little more to hold onto just where you need it, basically a para-cord palm-swell.

Edit: this was about 3' of cord

I actually much prefer the scales to para-wrapping. I just couldn't resist the urge to experiment when I first got it.

I'd not seen the scales until this thread. I like them and that wrap. I agree when you wrap all the way up you you loose too much of the finger groove and it puts my finger a little too close to harms way.

Thanks for the play by play on the wrap. I was close the first time I tried, but after seeing this it's easier than I thought it would be. Thanks!!!

Thanks for all the comments. Glad I could be of assistance.

I just noticed too that in the original thread, I had actually wrapped the two horizontal strands around the handle hole.
