Can someone chime in with some history on the different slip cases? I have 4 different ones that I would like to know more about...

The two on the left are a more matte leather, but one is light and the other is dark. The third from the left is a much smoother almost cracked looking leather, and the one on the far right is a very light yellow leather.

Did CRK change with time, or were different cases reserved for different things?

Thanks.

Ive noticed this as well. Maybe different stocks of leather over the years?

Mines like the one on the far left.

I have had the ones like the first 3 from the left, in different knives at different times. I have never had a light one like the one on the right.............................. My guess is that CRK tries different things from time to time and sometimes its for just a few knives, then its back to the norm.

Current is like #3, the light one on the right is what came with my Umfaan around 1999. I think it's just running changes.

n3 is the last one (S35VN "era") and got 1 with a '12 ebony and 2 from the factory
n 1 I have one from a '11 mnandi (not so nice and pretty basic, very soft and rubbery feel)

N3 is VERY high quality and grain, the "cracked" style is also very nice, it's holding very well as an EDC and it's sturdy

n4 looks nice too
