If you know anything about this help me out.

thanks for looking

we have updated the locking mechanism from the first pict to the one in the second picture. this is a running change and not all Flash II knives have gotten this yet. The Aluminum handle ones have been shipping that way for quite sometime. The black Zytel handle ones have just recently begun shipping. I would suspect that all Flash II will be shipping with the new lock release in the next 60 days.

Hope this helps out

How is the lockup on yours? That little stud is a cam and there seems to be a problem with the cam keeping the bolt from going all the way forward preventing a tight lockup on mine and a few others out there.

I had to use a file to fix mine. I really like these knives and I am glad they are repairable because they are unique and high quality overall (the aluminum ones especially) and if not for that glitch they are something SOG can be proud of.

On top of that they are American made come on man SOG I really do want to see these sell. They are good.

The square bolt models don't have that cam so they lock up tight. The cam is not a bad idea it makes the action easier to unlock one handed and easier period and is a good thing if made right.

The rectangular bolt has the advantage of being more simple and therefore reliable due to less parts. I do like the looks of the newer one better and it's ease of use (cool factor.)
