I thought I would include a pic to show how three of the screw types available look (Black, SS, and Flathead) and correct one of the size listed for the BK11. Typing from memory, so let me know if there is a mistake.
In regards to screw sizes: If you are buying screws for your Becker, the factory screws use a 32 thread. The coarser 24 thread count listed on the specs page will fit though. Also, if you are buying screws for the BK11, they are not 5/8". They are 3/8".

Large Beckers (2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12?)
10-32 x 5/8"

Tweeners (15, 16, 17)
8-32 x 1/2"

BK11
6-32 x 3/8"

I decided to look at the screws Dexwithers sent me and see how they compared to mine. Since I didn't look at them before I didn't notice he had sent me FLATHEADS! He knew I had socket head cap screws, so I guess he thought I would like to try out the flatheads. HE WAS RIGHT! j1t2p3

I have flat heads he sent me on my 10. I'd rather have them over the stock screws anyday. I carry a SAK farmer when ever I'm in the woods, which makes cleaning extremely easy

Definitey makes sense doesn't it. Most would have a flat head handy. Might pick some up next time at the hardware store. Thx for the heads up on the sizes.

While most would have a flathead more readily available in their toolbox or truck, a hex key is small and can be slipped in the front of your sheath. One member (Dexwithers?) actually made a kydex sheath that you can attach a hex key to. I think one member mentioned using torx screws.
If you carry a multitool or SAK like spikebot, I can definitely see the appeal of the flathead screws.

I would rather not take it apart outdoors though, because I would probably lose a screw or nut in the process! !

Flatheads are beautiful when it comes to the full-sized Becker knives. If you have an SAK on you, you've eliminated the need for one of those pesky hex wrenches.

If anyone has pictures of a Becker with flathead or BRASS screws, let's see them!! I would really like to see one with the brass hardware.

Yes, Dexwithers is the man when it comes to screws, sheaths and a bunch of other things. Check this out:

Also, here is a thread I started on a similar topic. I thought flat head was a no-brainer as far as variety of tools that could manipulate it, but there were others wiser than I who were still in favor of hex heads.

Thanks. Terrio did a five I love. Very tempted to commission one, less the sharpened swedge;)

Off topic... Not screws but at least it's brass.

That was the exact sheath I was thinking of, thanks for posting the link.

I think the socket heads are less prone to stripping because they have more surface area in contact with tool and the required hex keys don't have the play in them that deforms the slots in flatheads. I'm sure a lot of people don't even think to use the best fitting screwdriver when dealing with flatheads since you can get by using a lot of the smaller sizes.

WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE?????
All of the ones I have been able to find don't have the nice figuring. Is that highly figured walnut or stained fiddleback maple?? Looks great!

Very nice. Screws or not, I'm glad you posted the pics. What are the scales made of?? Terrio did great work on that knife.
I would prefer the knife not have a sharpened swedge if I was going to be carrying it. I was reading the laws for ALorGA?(long time ago) and one of the features that made a knife a weapon was being double edged. That is probably a common restriction among the states.

Thanks. Terrio's website says his are curly redwood. They are nice.

Mine are myrtle which I got from a long since banned member. I've had them about three years and they've held up great.

I'm leaning toward stainless flatheads for ease of use. I always have something around to use for those. Hex, not so much.

I'm sorry I can't provide specs, but the spare hardware from the ZK's worked great on my 14 handle mod

I did have to counter sink the threaded spacer into the scales.
