Hey All,
Been busy finishing up my move and a few projects, just finished up a sheath for a Mini AK Bowie for a friend of Ndogs. He wanted a dangler type sheath for his blade using a circle ring instead of a d-ring and wanted two smaller d-rings at the bottom for a leg tie down. Ndog sent me a drawing of the sheath and after a few small mods we came up with a pretty cool design. Being a dangler style we had to figure out proper retention the wet molding would work but his friend is going to be riding with it, and did not want to chance it coming out, so I came up with a little wet mold at the top and just above it the retention strap, this baby is not going anywhere. Wanted to post this cause its a tad different then the norm. Let me know what ya think.

I like it. I like the pattern where it looks like you beat on it with a ball peen hammer. Looks nice.

I guess you can call this the Dangler series, to dangle or tie down, that is the question.

Seems like that would work for any of the Bowie's up to and maybe not quite including the GCB. Unless your really tall that is, like 8'4".

Hey stop giving away my trade secrets man, those are not ball peen hammer marks, I use a special tool that you can only get from leatherworking school:D. I bet it would work on the bigger ones as well. Would take a ton of leather.

Very fine job Pugs! I think he will enjoy it. Thats exactly what he wanted! The idea was when he sits on his bike the ring would act as a hinge and since its leg tied it should ride snugly sitting or standing. Your addition of the wet mold on top was a great idea! He dont know about that yet but im sure he will like it. Cant wait to see it myself! My friend will take a ride up to Montana from Texas later in the month so it will get plenty of testing. Ill report back when he returns!
Ball peen? Thats crazy Bawanna! It take years of training to learn the art of texturing like that. You outta know that being a master checkererer;)

My bad! I never dreamed I was unleashing trade secrets. I know I'm not qualified to carry his tools so I'm humbled to share the same cyber space.

The wet molding acts as a good funnel to guide the beast back into the sheath. I think it should be a rule or something.

I like that rule! Im glad my micro is that way. Sure makes for a quick draw.

Looks great. I like the looks of that one. The wet mold will hold it pretty well during regular activities then use the retention strap for harder activities. Very similar to the style I was thinking of when I didn't think the IBBB one would work for me. Glad that proved to be a false assumption for me. But I certainly would have been happy with that sheath too.

Got my friends sheath in today Pugs! This thing is sweet and man does it ever work as planned!

I was kinda worried about the design at first but I strapped it on today and wore it around for a while. It is very comfortable standing and easily snatched up with the flick of the snap.

The rig hinges with you effortlessly as you sit and can easily be drawn from horizontal.

Pop the snap with the forefinger and snatch it out with the other three fingers and done deal! This works better than I expected and is classy as the Harley Davidson Road King it will be riding with! Great job Pugs! This rig works!

Thank You sir, I hope your friend likes it and it should serve him well.
