Different Size Bronze Washers?

I recently picked up a secondhand large regular Sebbie, BG42, circ.'97, and noticed the locking bar was 3/4 over. I thought this was odd given the lack of use it had actually experienced over the years. When I broke it down I noticed it had two of the smaller washers instead of one large and one small on the lock side. I had an extra set of washers and threw them in and found the lock came back more near to the half way point. Can anyone tell me if earlier sebbies had two smaller washers or is it most likely the previous owner put in the wrong washers

Don't worry. Back then they came with 2 small washers of similar size. I own 2 lg reg sebs from 1997 and that is what they came equipped with. I have since changed them to todays version and they function just as well as the day I received them. BTW, I still have an original 1997 lg reg seb in the box that I have never used. It still has the original washers in it!

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if they had used only two smaller washers back then. Guess I'll hang on to them as spares. Mystery solved.
