I just purchased a Schrade Old Timer 89OT. It came in the normal Black and Tan Old Timer "Sharp Idea" box. The clip blade was not stamped with Schrade U.S.A 89OT. Instead the stamp was MM89 over U.S.A

Anyone know what the MM stamp was?

If I am correct, this was part of the Master Mechanic series. I have one of the MM's with a serated sheepsfoot blade.

it was obviously a SFO by me, you need to send it to me to complete my collection, thank you :D :D.

Muskrat Man definitely popped into my head first when I looked at the knife.

This knife came from a guy who has a sporting goods store he bought in California. He found "a box full of knives" in the stock room. So far, in addition to the MuskratMan89, I have picked up an 877UH and a 125OT from him. All have been in dandy condition.

He kept one of each for himself, and has been peddling them a few at a time on Ebay. He had quite a few other patterns I already owned.

I tried to look up old posts, but the MM was screwing up my search, so I abandoned ship and just posted a question instead.

Thanks for navigating for me Bob!

first i have heard of that, but awesome non-the-less. i woulda freaked if i had seen that tang stamp. the first time i seen a "taylor" schrade, it ws one of those ram horn jobs. as i was turning it over in my hand, i noticed the little black stamp that says "china". i imagine the people in that poor hardware store are still trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with me!!
