Different texture on two sides???

Hi all,

My DCB messenger is shiny and polished on the backside, and matte on the front side. This is after almost one year of use (daily carry). Can anyone explain this? I would include pics, but for some reason the forum will not allow me. Thanks!
 
Yep your clothes are polishing the leather. That's normal.
 
Ok thanks! That makes sense. So, is there some product I can use to get the front as shiny as the back?
 
How curious. I've noticed that on mine as well, but had always assumed it was a different cut of leather. I too would love to know if it's possible to polish other portions of the briefcase.
 
I assume by messenger he means messenger bag, in which case flipping it around isn't really comfortable. I have a briefcase (used w/shoulder strap) and it's gotten the same way, worn in where it rubs against my leg/side. My advice is to appreciate it functionally and not worry about the difference. I suppose if you really want to you could buff the front side with a piece of denim to achieve the identical effect but what's the point?
