My favorite Damascus pattern is the twist pattern. Bill Moran said the twist pattern was the best cutter. I know many make much more complicated patterns and I enjoy seeing them. Last week I decided to do something different. I had two billets of a combination of 0-1, 1084, and 15N20. I rounded off and twisted the billets and then flattened them. Then I cut them each in three pieces, stacked them and welded them together. Then I turned the billet sideways and forged it flat and made the two blades from that. It is sort of a Turkish Damascus, but is also different.
