I don't understand. They came with different heat treat? How does one know, does it come on a peices of paper with the knife?

Maybe you already know this, but i will say it anyway, and you can tell me if you already knew

Differential heat treat means that the spine is less hardened than the edge. Most bussekin are through hardened. They have the same hardness from edge to spine. Usually 58-60 Rc although a select few go up to 62.... not sure if there are any higher than that

So yes, they came with a different heat treat
 
all INFI and SR-77 is through hardened. SR101 is sometimes differentially treated but less often lately it seems, and usually through hardened on blades less than 7"

Don't get confused by the lingo: Differential means that the blade has zones of varying hardness. In custom knives, this often manifests in something called the "hamon" or temper line. Here is an example from a master of the art, Don Hanson III:

Anyone have a copy of the original Ratweiler ad that proclaimed "This Bitch has a temper" while showing the differential temper line?

No Rat SAR on that list? Too bad my 3 piece set of my Stripped rat daddy, stripped ratweiler and stripped SAR wont match now. Son of a ........
