the Yvsa Cherokee Special

(note: these models may be available from time-to-time or as special orders, but they do not constitute part of our regular stock)

the HI Bolo

the Falcata - 27 inch

and i keep reading about "Bone Cutter" i dont know if that is a nick name or if i just dont see it on the website

Thank you

Eric

Hey Eric,

The YCS has been around most of this year. I've decided that I want one but the models available earlier this year were a little too heavy for what I wanted; ie two pounds or more. I have a order in for one 17-18" and about 1.5 pounds with a 3/8" spine. Yangdu got one in with a 1/4" spine but I passed. I'm still waiting and hoping that one of the kamis can reproduce Yvsa's original specs. Every once in a while you can find a used one for sale.

The Bolo shows up less frequently, although I believe that there is a model similar that has been produced and I can't remember what it is. Again, they may come up for sale used.

There was a nice Falcata in the last three months and if she had six of them then Yangdu could have sold them all. I called about a possible extra but there was only one in stock. Hopefully coming up soon. Do a Search and check out the recent DOTD listing.

The Bonecutter was introduced by Sgt. Khadka and later copied by other kamis...not always faithfully as some Forumites have pointed out. A Search will provide these discussions and lots of pictures. Sgt. Khadka has been making some of these recently. I got one early this month and there was one listed today.

Of course, if you have a burning desire for any of these, you can do a special order and see what comes up.

You're welcome.

Rick

Rick pretty much got you covered, Eric.
Thank you, for the fine help!

Hey Stickfred. You are absolutely right about the weight. I special ordered a 18 inch 26 Oz M-43 and just love it. It is more lively than a 17 Sirupate I also ordered. Keeping the Khuks below 2 pounds is definitely the way to go.

Yes i agree. I love my lightweight Bura Budhune with 4mm spine thickness.
It feels like an extension of arm!
