Hi, I'm about to (part) trade my MOD Razorback and got to chose between a plain blade non coated BM-Stryker new no box and a EDI Genesis 1 also plain blade no coating bead blasted NIB.

I first couldn't find a picture of the EDI and the EDIKNIVES.COM webside is non existant anymore.

Guys please advise about durability, genearl usage as the knive will be used for general cutting at the scoutingclub and everywhere else where needed.
I like the bladeform of the Genesis as I'm never ever using a knife for protection so the tactical tanto form of the Stryker is not really needed.

How about durability, ergonomics, quality.

Please advise.

Cheers from Holland,

Bagheera.

I own variations on both of the knives that you stated. I have :
  • EDI Genesis 1 Black Combo Edge
  • BM Stryker M2 combo

The EDI was the first knife that I bought back in May/June last year. When I first got it I liked it, but since then I bought the Stryker.

I think that the EDI sucks big time, and fails a spine tap test (let alone a spine whack test) every time.

I love my Stryker which is my everyday carry, always passes spine whack, and is VERY sharp. It is also very comfy in the hand.

I say go for the Stryker, its one sweet knife and I must say I REALLY like all of Elishewitz's designs.

They are both fine knives, although I'm rootin' for the Stryker

.

It all really boils down to what you will be using the knife for.

I'm not here to argue the merits or shortcomings of the tanto blade shape, but if you want a normal clip point blade, and have no particular application for the tanto design-go with the Genesis.

Yeah! Drop the chalupa...

I have never held the razorback but I own a M2 Stryker and it is probally one of the best folders that I own,
You will not be disappointed with it......
