Difficulty Closing Manix2 One handed

Just picked up a spyderco manix2 the other day. I see videos of people on youtube pulling back the ball lock and quickly swinging it shut with a flick of there wrist and it seems to close up nicley. When I try to do that I hear a metal smacking metal noise and the blade bounces out. I haven't tried it many times since the noise sounded bad and I didn't want to jack something up. Is there something wrong with my knife, does it need to be adjusted, or am I just "doing it wrong" to quote the internets.

Nothing wrong with your knife. Just your technique

you have to release the ball lock before it closes completely to keep it from bouncing open again.

I also find the angle of the blade vs. the ground is important to knock out the clanking back and forth. as the blade comes down, I lower the angle to the ground making the drop slower.

Work with it, what a fantastic blade. You can always use two hands you know!

i close mine one handed, with my thumb and pointer finger on the lock, and let it drop close.

Yeah it is all about when you release the lock. As soon as the blade is free to move, release the CBBL
