Difficulty locking it open

I have noticed recently that that my 42 is consistantly more difficult to lock open after manipulating it. I like to go from normal manipulation to pivots seamlesly, but it requires some serious force to push the handels together enough to get it locked. But, if i have been doin pivots, onlock it, then try to lock it again, it's easy. So basically only after swingin' it around for a while...any idea's?

I've not run into that problem nor have I heard that one, I've heard of "It doens't lock open at all" (on cheapies). I have no idea what to tell you.

Well, thanks for the help Cameron.

It is weird: its only after manipulation, really requires shifting my fingers around to get a good enough grip to squeese the handels close enough to lock. I look at where the latch rests on the butt of the safe handel, and they are clearly too far apart. Then after a few pivots and it has been locked open, if i unlock, then try to lock it again, it feels normal and easy to do. Living in a dorm, i really havnt practiced with this knife as much as i would like, so maybe its just that its not really broken in yet, but this is still a bit odd.

All of the 42s I've got recently have been really hard to lock open out of the box. This worried me because this is a sign of either an over-sized tang pin or undersized pockets in the handles. I don't want the tang pin to get damaged and the handles are Ti, very hard. But, I have found that they all seem to break in and become a lot more reasonable to lock open after a few weeks of use. The wear mechanism fortunately seems to be the pockets in the handles breaking in. So, I'd say play with it and see if it breaks in.
