I just got a new Bugout and I’m really diggin this knife. It’s so thin and light weight that you don’t even know you’re carrying it. So far the S30V steel is holding a GREAT edge. I’ve cut a considerable amount of cardboard and it’s still shaving sharp. Lockup is rock solid with absolutely no vertical play. Blade is perfectly ground and centered. The blade slices like a laser being made of very thin stock with almost a full flat grind. This knife is winner! Here’s a couple pics of it.

Felt too light and flexible for my liking. I understand it'd actually be a great light addition for an actual bugout bag or that type of use. But, for me I like a solid knife?

The Bugout is an awesome knife. I think it’ll go down as a Benchmade classic when it’s all said and done. My Bugout is my literal every day carry, and I don’t see that changing any time soon. :)

I agree. It’s definitely a “home run” kind of knife in my opinion and mine too has become my new favorite edc.

Thank you for the feedback and we are so glad that you love it! Awesome pictures as well! It is also a favorite here :)

I really like my bugout as well. It’s on my list of “must have” benchmade knives that I think everyone should have. (My favorite BM is a 940-2).

Glad to see you are happy with yours too.

vwb563- nice pics.
Reasons for EDC-ing or not, one knife or another always looks like a list. But this Bugout with a set of Rouge Bladeworks CF scales answers one of the two questions arising from its list. The custom scales are way stiffer, √. And as OP reports, the grind is a laser, 0.09, √. Gifted two Benchmade S30v knives in the last year, but I 'm personally loving their m390 and 20cv; for the first time really displacing their D2, so meh. For the same price as a 940-1501 the modded Bugout still calls to me because I come from a time and place where unobtainium / Scandium / etc. was about a g note per ounce; with this cutting tool at 1.9 oz, √, with an Axis lock√! Looks like tomorrow to me.

Can't put mine down. Its kicked everything else out the pocket for me. Its as if it isn't there until you need it. Super slicey, thin, light, yet strong. Mines sporting the black rit dye. Wish they would offer this scale color as an option.

I have to admit this is knife is starting to grow on me. I'd have to handle it before shelling out that much cash for one, but I can see it getting lots of use.

I didn’t think I’d like mine as much as I do, but it is definitely the knife I reach for everyday.

I own over 50 Benchmade Axis knives alone and I think the Bugout is already my favorite knife. It is simply EDC perfection. I hope Benchmade offers up a premium version with G10 scales and an M390 blade.

Whoa. Now that is a strong statement. They truly make a knife for everyone, and some still get more popular than others. Favorite out of 50 knives is quite the compliment.

I'm surprised the bugout is so popular? Obviously Benchmade has read the market correctly on this one. It still didn't do it for me however...?

I bought the Bugout not really sure if I would like it. I usually buy a bulky knifes that would take a lot of beating. Been carrying this thing the last couple weeks and it has really grown on me. It is definitely a great slicer and I barely notice it is in my pocket. The grind is awesome and I don't really have any complaints at all.
