I'm really liking the Wingman in the urban edc role. It has both class and attitude :D

Fidgeting with it and a cream cheese brownie last night at Rembrant's whilst sorting out how to word the opening paragraph of an article I am writing.

Good! I like it a lot also. Maybe I should do a drop point version...

Thanks Brian, I'm going to have to give the Wingman some more looks and consideration. Just to share a chuckle: That is a nice pic but given the trend of meat in "Fiddlebacks and Food" along with a lack of coffee & glasses this morning, my brain immediately thought that steak was a little overdone. :-) Looking at it as a brownie now, that would go great with coffee.

not to hijack the thread but ..

Hey Andy,

I came across a pic of a swedged/clipped Hiking Buddy over the weekend and it looked pretty sweet. Many of your new models have drop points and swedges to them also. This got me thinking that it would be over the top to see a "Drop Point Friday" edition where everything from Runt to Woodsman got the treatment. <evil scientist laugh>

I've handled it a lot, and used it a good bit. Not sure about a drop point version, but I sure wish you would make a version with about a 4.25 to 4.5 inch blade, and slightly longer handle...in tapered 5/32 for me :)

Lol, as a steak, that would be MUCH to over-done for me :) But in that case it might make a good abrasion resistance and edge retention test of the A2 Tool Steel :D

You mean just swedge everything for a week?

Yep. I guess that would technically be "Swedge Friday" but that would be pretty cool to see an entire Friday batch like that. As long as it were feasible per model and as long as there's a demand. Glancing through the 9/2 sale for an example, I'm not sure if that would make sense on the BLJ and I guess it could be done on the straight spine models like the Pipsqueak or Recluse.

Might be more practical to offer a swedged version of each of the ones it works on along with standard variants one Friday. I love the swedges, but not everyone does. I used to catch hell in the W$SS section over woods bumming with a swedged blade. They said it would "wreck" my baton...as if "my baton" is not just another piece of fire wood for me :D

That's funny.

But I agree and that's why I had the disclaimers - if it worked for the model / only include models where it would work. And not everyone does like swedges so while it might be cool to see a whole batch like that, you have customer satisfaction to consider and you don't want the batch to end up being a bust and have most of them not sell. Depends if its plausible.
