Digital Calipers

Just a heads up. Harbor Freight has their 6" .001 digital calipers on sale for $15.99. I think they're regularly something like $36.99. My local store said the sale was good till 02/26. YMMV.

Picked up a set of the Harbor Freight calipers. They'll do till Midway puts a set (next link) of Frankford Arsenals on sale. From time to time, they list them for $19.99. I plan to pick up a set when they do. Good reviews on them. I also saw them recommended in Field & Stream (maybe it was Outdoor Life?).

One of these days, I'll get some Mitutoyos or Starretts. Or maybe Brown and Sharpes.

I've got this one, too, when they were on sale last X-mas. Harbor Freight sells at least five different 6" calipers, these are on the nicer side, and come in a hard black plastic storage case, IIRC. The cheaper ones are flimsy and are packaged in what is essentially a triangular plastic bag.

Durn if the Harbor Freight and the Frankford Arsenal calipers don't look the same, particularly the digital display. Wonder if the same outfit makes them?

I am going to pick up a snap on caliper when the snap on dealer gets here today. Not going to cost me anything. I'm charging this one to the company.
