I'm planning to buy my wife a digital camera for Christmas. Looking for the most bang for the buck. Anyone have any suggestions for a budget around $150?:)

I just bought a Canon ELPH 300 HS on amazon.com, it is a great pocket sized camera that takes great pics for only $149.99

Johnny - Check out dpreview. It's like BF but for cameras - an equally incredible source of camera info and reviews.

Strong suggestion that you consider any Panasonic Lumix in your price range... jacksterp gave you great advice; dpreview's the place to get your best info.

I've been very happy with the color, features, and price of Canon point-and-shoot digital cameras. Those Powershot 300 HS ELPH models get excellent reviews and are right at the $150 mark.

My new point-and-shoot is the Powershot SX230 HS. A bit more expensive ($199), but with many more features: built-in GPS, 14X optical zoom, manual focus option, Apature priority and shutter speed priority shooting.

If pocket-carry size is more important than features, go with an ELPH model. The SX230 HS is bulkier and doesn't fit into the smallest camera cases.

My wife got me an cannon Power shot SD1400IS. I know it was well over $150.00 when she first got it for me, but that was over a year ago. If you can afford it, it takes better pictures then my wife's dslr
