Just noticed, as I've been on here going through some years, that members who have passed away made an impact on my life. It's fascinating to me that something I never thought of is that in our current age we now add digital funerals of sorts. People communicating about what they are passionate about, and helping teach others is part of why I think we miss them, even if we never met in person.

You can see support through difficult times in life on the forum, and celebrations of the beautiful parts of life also. When someone passes away, you will see the impact they made with pages of comments from people discussing what this human being brought to them.

Really just more of an observation of life, wondered what you folks think?

Whenever someone interacts with another person, regardless of the method of interaction, a bond between the individuals begins to be establish, based on the type and quantity of overall interactions. Whenever relational bonds are broken, be it by death or by moving or some other sundering step, the loss of interaction affects people.

Living in a rural environment and working on the farm most days, I have significantly more online interactions than face-to-face interactions on most days. I would be willing to bet that excepting my immediate family, I would be missed by more people on-line than in real life. Maybe by a few other church members who would have to take up the slack for my duties as Lector, Pastor's Assistant, Usher and Senior Teller (money counter). And neither category would be very large.
