If you can't tell from my recent posts I have been bitten by the watch bug. My last poll of mechanical or quartz yielded some interesting results. I thought more people here would have preferred mechanical. This got me wondering, do more of you prefer analog or digital watches?

Digital...That way, I don't have to "do the math" to figure-out what time it is.:D.

Both actually. My EDW is a Citizen Skyhawk.

Of the two I prefer a good analog, and I really like a mechanical - especially autos - from an aesthetic standpoint, but you just can't beat the Eco-Drive quartz movements for accuracy and reliability.

Absolutely zero maintainence too!

Cheers,
Joe

edited to add:
And it has a slide rule for "doing the math"!

I liked both. ;) Just for different applications.(like folder and fix blade, both are good :D ) Digital for work and sports, Analog
for casual and formal wear.

PETER

I want to post my vote for "both" as well. My favorite watch is a Citizen Titanium SkyHawk and my backup is a St Moritz Format 2Ti with a blue face. Why not have the best of both? :)

Needless to say, I prefer quartz to mechanical drives.

It's not digital's fault, but it's harder to see the time from angled position. Most digitals show time by liquid quarts, very hard to see if you look at it from over 30 degree from vertical to the dial. There are LED digitals, without such problem. But you have to push a button, or allow very rapid battery consumption. Thus an analog is my best compromisation for now.

I go with both myself. My watch has as the main face standard hands then a small digital readout window at the bottom. I like it this way so when someone asks the time I look at the digtal readout but it looks like I can tell time on regualar watch. Now if i could just get the thing to catch my spelling mistakes I'd have it made.

I voted Digital because that is what I have and wear
but I think my next watch my be a Analog I seem to
be leaning that way, more and more.

I can't believe no one got the reference to Rush in the poll.

I guess there aren't many Rush fans here. :(

So far I am surprised. I thought more of you would prefer analog. But I also thought more of you would prefer mechanical. Shows what I know.

Hi Dennis

I am a BIG Rush fan but just a bit slow on the uptake ;)

I have left my iPod at home or I could go and listen to all their albums that I have (lots cant remember how many)

Either works fine for me, but never both! I had a Navihawk and didn't like it. Lots of "toys", but wtf time is it???
