Does anyone have any experience with DV Camcorders? I've narrowed it down to the Samsung SC-D80 and the Canon ZR-60. Both are similar on paper with the following exceptions:

Samsung: IR Night mode (could be useful around a newborn or nightshots where lights are bad)
Canon: color viewfinder, 18x zoom (samsung is 10x), accessory lenses (tele and wide angle are two I know of). Smaller size.

I like both the IR capability of the Samsung and the color viewfinder of the Canon. I'm not sure which one is more important (both have color LCDs)

Both have the same inputs and outputs. Both have accessory shoes. Both have front mounted mikes. Both have .68megapixel CCD's.

I've read good reviews about both. The bad reviews tend to revolve around common issues with all DV Camcorders in this class (grainy video in low light unless using a trick like IR, mike can pick up motor noise in very low sound situations, etc).

Does Canon's legendary photo expertise apply to their camcorders?

I placed an order for the Samsung for $368 after shipping and thought that was it, but Microcenter has put it's camcorders on a 25% off sale, making the Canon $399. Now that price is not a factor, I'm not sure which to get.

Any opinions?

Thanks,
Chris
