Damn, some nut jumped on stage in Ohio and shop several band members. Darrell didn't make it. This is beyond insane... :barf:

Wasn't a big fan of Pantera, but the man could play. He could play better than most. This incident is just crazy, I can't wait to hear what motivated the sick phucker to do it. Him and John Lennon (another I was not a big fan of but respected his music)go out the same way on the same date. Couldn't have been more different men either. The world is nuts.

I'm not a fan of his music (or that style, really) but everyone knew he was a great player. That's really depressing. RIP Dime.

I was a fan of Pantera, saw them twice on stage. Since the slpit he had made great debut with Damageplan. Dimebag was a great metal guitarist, his brother Vinnie must be devastated seeing him die on stage, it's a f*cking bad day :(

I've seen Dimebag in concert with Pantera 8 or 9 times, and have shook the mans hand. They were scheduled to do a show here in Kansas City on Saturday. I just can't belive it.

R.I.P. Dime You will be missed.

RIP Dimebag. I had met him a couple of times. He was very active in and supportive of the local Dallas music scene. He seemed like a good ole boy.

I hate to drop names, but I saw Pantera on Deep Ellum before anyone knew who they were. This is nauseating, indeed. My hearing is going, and can no longer go to metal concerts.

I have been reflecting on this since I heard. I saw Pantera a bunch a times. Usually they were on the bill with another band I liked more, but they always put on a good show. I remember one show with Prong were it was my birthday and they stopped the show and had a birthday party because it was Dime's too. Prong and the crew and eveybody was throwing beers into the audience and they had like a toast/chug a beer thing. I thought that was cool, to have the same birthday as Dime. I remember at a couple shows I was at, Pantera, Dime in particular, asked security to leave the stage so fans could get up and dive. I wonder if this policy helped let this happen. What a shame. Dime never wanted a gap between him and his fans and some whacko takes advantage of that.

If someone has recent news on the other band member shot and maybe dead, please post.
Rumors say it might be Vinnie Paul (the brother of Dimebag and drummer of the band) or Patrick Lachman the singer...
it's a nightmare!

I've never been a metal fan so I'm not familiar with the guys but this a darn shame. What a senseless tragedy.

Man...this totally ruined my day.
He has been my favourite guitarist of all time. I've seen Pantera twice and mostly because of him.
I still can't believe it.

I used to keep a beard just to look like him.

I'm just f**kin depressed.

This has bothered me since I heard it on the radio last night. Just so f'ing silly and senseless.

RIP Dimebag.

I've been a fan of Pantera since Cowboys first came out. Those of you who aren't familiar with metal might not understand the significance of this tragedy, but Dime was recognized as one of the top players in the field and his style and sound had a big impact on the metal scene of the 90s. I don't see how anybody could hate a guy like him.

R.I.P Dime.

Amen bro...

He was definitely one of a kind. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY could come up with a power groove like him. Pantera was my favorite band ever. I have been just absolutely numb all day.

All I have to say is "why dimebag?" He was one of the most down to earth people you could meet. He loved to hang out and share beer with fans, sign their guitars, just shoot the shiz, whatever... I still just can't believe it. :( :( :(

Rip In Peace bro.
