My current EDC is a Kershaw Leek, I am not a big fan of using the pocket clips on my knives so I just pocket carry them. Therein lies my problem with dimes getting lodged in the frame next to the blade. I understand the logic behind the open frame design but it does create problems. The only solution I have been able to come up with is to dedicate my RF pocket to my EDC but old habits are hard to break as that is where I always placed my change.

Anyone else have the same problem? Any other solutions? Thanks.

I generally remove the clips. You many times need to replace the screws but I personally do not like clips

jvan,
I have had this problem more than once myself...

Only 2 solutions that I have come up with are

1...Dont put anything but folding money in that pocket (yea I forget this one all the time!!)

2...use a sheath for the knife...Keeps it out of the pocket and you can place it where ya want (belt, neck etc)

www.cuttersandcollectors.com
www.armoralleather.com

are 2 good choices for belt sheaths for folding knives or fixed blade's...Both are excellant craftsman and are kewl to do business with

I have an MP3 player that I cant use!!

Oregon, thanks, that looks as if it might solve my problem as being able to extract my knife quickly isn't really that important to me.

You are welcome.

Went thru the entire first part of my life carrying a small wallet in my left rear pocket. Figured I couldn't change to front pocket carry easily. The Mission is a front pocket carry design. Took 48 hours before I quit reaching behind and started reaching front left for the Mission wallet. Haven't looked back. Quite comfortable. I, also, carry a Leek, textured G-10 S30V, 5 plastic cards, paper and metal money.

Best,

oregon

When wearing pants with watch pockets, slice the inside bottom of the watch pocket (to allow full insertion of longer folders) and clip in the watch pocket.

For Summer shorts wear, Sportif Stretch Cargo Shorts come with a watch pocket deep enough for an SMF or similar large folder.

Hope this helps!

Oregon you answered a question that I was going to ask, that being will a Leek fit in there nicely. The wallet will go nicely with the new ZDP-189 Ti Leek that I hope to acquire once they hit the street.

Thanks again, John

The new Ti Leek in ZDP-189:

The current competitive state of affairs for collectors of Japanese powdered metal bladed knives has given me the fidgets. I want one, how to get one, what are the costs of waiting, what are the costs of pre-ordering, why does it matter if I have the latest object and such thoughts collide and rumble within.

I hope it will be a breeze to acquire that which you want.

I, however, am on a list at our good friends at NG. Will this work? How well does doing nothing work? We shall see.

Is there a better way?

Also, this knife should fit like a "hand in a glove" inside the Mission Wallet. The textured G-10 Leek, now in my leather MW, fits real good and snug (it is thicker than most Leeks). It fits deeply into the pocket and does not rise above the top/end of the wallet. I like the clip so I've left it in place. When I replace the knife into the Wallet I lift the, very tight, clip to save friction on the wallet. My guess is that without the clip would be more practical as it would simplify drawing and replacing the knife in the wallet's sleeve.

Best,

oregon

G'day,I hate the way clips feel when I'm using my knife so I take them off, and just carry (one of) my knives in my right front pocket. I put my loose change in a pouch.
