hi, you all .this is my frist post here , may be.:D

i am just curious about the dimples on the swamp rat , as i know INFI has dimples ,why SR101 has the same ?

dingy

I really don't know. Perhaps it has something to do with the way Jerry hardens steel. :confused:

Never seen a stripped rat. I'm assuming you KNOW it has dimples. Dimples are a byproduct of the heat-treat and how Jerry, et al, does it. The steel don't start out dimply.

Dimples = BAMF.

i think the dimples is not the result of special heat treatment leave , i gusse Jerry forged the steel he use, so that the steels he use are tougher than other people's.

Stock removal would be my best guess.

.

Yep. Busse doesn't forge their knives and the steel comes without dimples to the shop. Dimples formed AFTER stock removal and before final assembly.

Seen INFI Dimples plenty of times.

Sure would be interesting to know what takes place in the hardening process that causes those dimples to form. I don't believe I've seen them in knives other than Bussekin knives.

I think the dimples are from the decarb that forms during the heat treat process.

at least that's what some of the hogs have told me :D
unless... I misunderstood what they were trying to explain

Dingy's right though. I haven't really noted them on SR-101 before, but they ARE there aren't they. I only ever noted them on INFI until now. It IS interesting. Perhaps one of our knowledgeable hogs can jump in and help us out with the real details.

Those SR-101 dimples are as sexy as the ones some women have on their lower back...oh you hogs know. ;) I love me some dimples.
