Scrap Yard Mud Mutt. I thought there had been a thread on here or the Busse forum announcing it, but can't find it. And I am not a member, nor even know where to find, the Scrap Yard forum. But I know a lot of you that buy SYCO also frequent here.... so I figured I'd post.

Looking forward to getting this one in hand!
 
I hope so. I was looking through an old 2014 thread that compared the Scrapper to the RMD to the Mutt. The Mutt seems to be very like the RMD, but no finger choil. I kinda like a finger choil, but it isn’t a total necessity. But I kinda hope they follow up with a new Scrapper somewhere down the line. I think I need at least one more. All of these hit a sweet spot with me.
 
Mudd mutt is very little like the rmd.
It's a noticeably thinner stock and narrower blade. It's a great bushcrafting knife when you knock down the shoulder.

Mudd mutts rule. They're a completely different and great little beast of a package.
 
Curious if they go in alphabetical order :eek: cause my last name begins with a "Z" and no ding yet.
 
I got a ding yesterday and I called the shop to see which one it was for and it was for the Warden but they said my Mutts were still probably two weeks out. Lol!

Interesting. Both the Scrappers I have also seem to be noticeably thinner. I could be wrong. I’ll mic them and edit this post with the numbers.

They’re all fantastic knives. Hard to pick a favorite. Although either of the mudder-handles ones would win in the winter.

Thickness at spine, measured at the front of the handle:

2017 vintage RMD, stripped: 0.187”/4.75mm

Scrapper 5, unknown vintage: 0.185”/4.70mm (no way could I see that small a difference)

Scrapper 5 INFI: 0.167”/4.27mm

The INFI Scrapper is the one I carry the most of the two Scrappers, and maybe I could see a 0.02” thickness difference. Maybe. I know it cuts very well. But so does the stripped 2017 RMD... which has had the edge thinned a bit.

Just received my shipping notice for the Mudd Mutt! Had anyone else?! :)
 
Same here. Got it sometime this morning. The shipping notice, that is. It was actually picked up this morning from WAuseon. Supposed to arrive by Saturday. Unfortunately, when I ordered it, I was still receiving mail at the PO. I have since then temporarily forwarded to my home. So now, it is going to get to the PO Box by Saturday, where they will turn it around, send it BACK out, and forward it to my house. Since it won't show at the PO until Saturday afternoon, I'm sure, after they close, it won't get forwarded until Monday. Which will be a day or two turnaround, so I'll be LUCKY if I receive it by Tuesday, but probably next Wednesday. First world problems in the age of the ChiCom virus... :mad: ... <facepalm>
