Dinky little EDC Case

Got myself a little fathers day present. I had been looking for a discreet EDC that was UK legal carry. I was torn between the Medium Stockman and the Small Texas Toothpick, eventually going for the Toothpick due to its small size and weight of only 1oz.

The little knife which my my very anti-knife-wife describes as "dinky" (so should be very people friendly) fits easily into my wallet and goes wherever I do.

Just to give you an idea of scale while opened.

Yes, it is a LITTLE small, but hey, whatever works. It's a cool looking knife, and you can't beat a case.

I think you may be surprised at what all that small blade will be able to accomplish. Just keep it sharp.

Great way to put it!

That's a cutie of a pocket knife, looks sort of like a mini navaja.

I think more and more in our rapidly growing urbanized world, the little guys are going to be more and more handy to have. Dosen't the U.K. have some pretty strict knife laws? Mini toothpicks, baby butterbeans, peanuts, Eisenhours. It's surprising what you can do with a little knife if it's good and sharp.

Especially if it's a 'yeller' handle!:D

Thanks Jacknife - it was your stories that led me to get one.

Knife law is fairly restrictive about EDC, blade length is less than 3" (this is just over 2") and can't lock or be opened by gravity yadda yadda yadda. I work in an office so the small size and low weight means I can carry it without any problems.

You do know Moff, now that you have a little 'yeller' knife, this may only be the begining. All those afor mentioned little knives come in yeller and CV. Now this may not be a bad thing. In fact, if you somehow started accumulating small yeller handle pocket knives, most of it may go un-noticed by the better half. Maybe another will look like "just another" yella handle knife. I recall one fella that made a nice little collection out of yeller handle knives because the 'ol lady never noticed the difference. To her, theey all looked alike.

Just a thought. :D

Ooh, bad Jackknife, BAD Jackknife!! ;)

Heh, that's how my collection grows. I don't buy often, but when I do, it's usually two or three within about a month's period. The wife doesn't really pay attention to what I have, despite having many different styles and handle materials.

Dinky!!

What a laugh, I have not heard 'dinky' used in 35 years.

Once that that thing is sharp it is defintely not dinky!

Well another good thing about his mini-toothpick; when he finally crumbles to the cult of the peanut, the boxy handle of the peanut will feel like a moose to him!

Psst, peanut. (In whispering voice.)

UK legal? I'm surprised you didn't have to resort to a real toothpick! ;)

Have you seen the "stab-proof" kitchen knives?

Very nice knife you chose. I find I am liking smaller knives more and more as I get older. I just love my peanuts and Baby Canoes, aka Bay Butterbeans. I like canoes so I call them baby canoes. When I pick up my 111mm SAK's or stockmans, or copperheads, I think they are big. But even so, I still like them. :-)

Moff8,

That is a neat knife indeed!

I got to handle one, and spend some time with one, and I was impressed!
In fact when some folks in the UK and I were discussing knives to fit restrictions imposed, that is one knife I suggested.

Along with Case's yeller handled Peanut with CV blades, the pen knife next size up and ...for the gal with hazel eyes, the small Boker Tree Brand Classic with carbon steel blades and Rosewood handles -8288i.

Oh she has yeller fever, just sometimes a gal needs something to match her eyes.

I may be a dumb guy, but I do know a few things about gals. She was visiting the US, down in the Southern US and she fit right in with the Southern Belles, just fine, even if I and the gals did talk funny. *wink*

That little toothpick is a workhorse, and will surprise one with what all it can do.

You can forget you have it, as it is so light weight, and pocket carries so well.

I checked with Case and the Medium stockman would also be UK legal, the main blade is under 3". I was torn between the two but I really liked the blade shape of the toothpick, a medium stockman will be on the xmas list though. I will probably end up with a Peanut as well as it come highly recommended :)

The more I look at that little toothpick, the more I think its a cutie. Very pretty little knife.

I wonder, if for use in the U.K. if the old yeller handles are better, as they may project a "friendlier" look? Kind of like the Victorinox sak's red handle. A more innocent aura.

I wonder if even the most hardened London cop would be disarmed by a yeller handle peanut.
