Sunday, we had my best friend over for diner. Since his new Blues album is to be released next week ( more later about that), I fixed a special dinner for the four of us.
The meal was:
Salad
Australian Rock Lobster Tails
Kobe Beef Steaks
Corn on the Cob
Chocolate Mousse with Raspberries
John brought over a bottle of White Star to start the celebrations, and we switched to a good Riesling for the meal, finishing up with good cigars and Balvennie 21 on the deck.
All the entrée was cooked on the grill.
As you can see in the photos, everyone had a great time.
John was a singer and entertainer for 25 years, and then read for the law and passed the bar the first time. He quit singing and practiced law, but he always wanted to do a Blues album. He has been working on this blues album for ten years, Last year he started polishing up the rough spots, made some really good changes, wrote a few new songs and changed some of the others ones. The result is one of the best Blues albums I have heard in a long time. Certainly the best to come out of this area ever. John lives on the Chesapeake bay, and has always been active in its preservation. He wrote the title song after working with "Save the Bay" several years back. It became the idea that got him moving on this album again. He is donating 25% of the profits to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. http://www.cbf.org/Page.aspx?pid=1000
I won't sell his "Bay Blues" albums here, but if anyone wants a great album, the release date is 9/13/10. He is having a web site set up , http://johncogmusic.com/ . Click his Bio and Buy pages to get a good read on him and his music. The distribution website will be up next week.
