I have now read several times about a direct throw overhand... can anyone explain, what exactly that means?

thank you
Seb

Generally, this is a reference to the arm position relative to the ground as it is moved in an effort to put the knife in airborn motion. In other words, you should have your arm perpendicular to the ground and directly over your shoulder as opposed to a side arm movement where the arm is at a noticeable angle to your body and the ground.
