Hi Folks, I'm thinking of investing in a Direware folder. I kinda like the natural green G-10. I was wondering, what are the advantages of having both slabs made out of titanium as opposed to one slab in titanium and the other in G-10 or Carbon Fiber. Is the G10 as strong as the Titanium. Do you think that the G10 will last "forever" just like the Titanium. I would like to go with the G10, but don't want to have any future problems. The handle slab on this model is pure G10 without any titanium liners. Any expert opinion on the pros and cons of the different models would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any and all advice. Cheers, Alex.

Looks like nobody's got much of an opinion on G10 vs Titanium slabs. I went ahead and pulled the trigger and ordered a Direware Solo with G10 slab. You only live once!

You will love G10. I have it on several folders. Many I've owned well over 10 years. Damn near indestructible. I've read thick g10 doesn't need liners.

I think Strider was the first to use a G-10 front and Ti back slab. Now it's more common. G-10 works fine without liners.

i think what might have scared off people from answering was Direware, not something I've heard of anyway.

I believe G10 is a bit lighter than titanium, though the feel of titanium under your fingers is hard to replace. Though G10 doesn't show scuff marks as easily as bare titanium. But if you have any choice, go for stonewashed titanium.
