I'm almost finished now. I need to make the nut to hold the pommel in place (it will be Elephant Ivory just like the pommel). I wanted it to have an old look so I etched a little longer than normal. I kinda like the look but want opinions please. The Damascus is Bruce Evans. I'll add my usual disclaimer about his steel insomuch as Bruce doesn't have any control over the amature stuff made with his beautiful damascus. Please don't hold him responsible.:o

LOA is 19.75 inches
width is 1 inch
Handle is stabalized Birdseye Maple
Butt cap and Nut are Bark Elephant Ivory

Thanks for your opinions

Sweet! Nice job Peter. I'm curious, how hard is that tip? It looks awful thin to me and I can't help thinking that it would snap off too easy unless you tempered it more than normal.

That was a problem Stu. I edge quenched the whole thing then wrapped half of the blade in sopping wet rags. I draw tempered the tip back about 1/3 to a spring blue. I test flexed to about 45 degrees and it kept it's shape. It's not a real using knife but anything I build I like to be in a using condition.
