Here’s a new dirk, aprox., 12 inches OAL. The blade is forged integral from 1075 with a multi banded quench line. The semi guard is bronze. The beaded ring is sterling silver and the handle is walnut wrapped with woven cotton cord and sealed with shellac. The butt piece is bronze and steel.

Beautiful as always Tai. The banding visible in the last pic is something else!

Tai,
That is a beautiful cutter. I'd like to see how you filed the little beaded spacer. The whole package is great. Lin

As pretty as this is, I know it is SCARY sharp, too. And that handle is incredible. Wound one strand at a time. Wow.

Your smart images make me rethink my own work. Always dramatic.

I'm a believer. :)

There is something just right about your stuff Tai ,also very original it always
is one of my favorites when I am tired of the same old thing. The dirk looks like it would be a very good user as well as a weapon and showpiece.

Thanks folks!

Lin, the beaded ring is from store bought "silver beaded wire". Most jewelry and silver suppliers carry it. It comes in full bead (round) and half bead (flat). This is the full bead type. The end of the wood part of the handle is carved down to create a shoulder and space to hold it. The ring itself is bent around the oval to fit, and the ends are soldered together.

Unsub, one thing I don't like too much about double edged daggers is that generally they aren't good for anything but stabbing. I wanted this knife to also have exceptional slicing and cutting capabilities. The blade is thin and surgical sharp. :)

Thanks again.

I guess I should say that this one is available on my website. :)
