Just got a monster package from Oupa! Being as he's so far away, I threw several knives in the box, and here's what he sent back!!
DirkSpecials.jpg

The top two are made from one Scagel repro from Northwoods via Queen; actual wood from Scagel's workshop at top, and (teak or bocote? Dirk?) on the second, with the sun a-shinin!
Amos should recognize the third as his beloved Queen jack with a touch of Oupa added!
Next, the wonderful lines of a true Wharncliffe whittler, made even better!
And finally, a Harness Jack from my SFO, with appropriately, Hoss Poo scales!!
To borrow a phrase, Hoo Roo :D !

Yep, I do recognize that one. Man, all this Oupa-sizing, hoo roo indeed! There seems to be some fine knfe dressing going on down under.

I've been daydreaming about an Oupa'd knife. In my dream it would be a good, crisp, working knife, with a good action and perhaps with basic, Delrin scales, like the Queen. But since one of those is already done, something like it. In my dream it seems fitting that a favorite companion be honored so.

I thought of the new Boker Canoe that's been cruising in my pocket these few days, but it isn't perfect on the action. So, I while away hours thinking which one, which one....

I am proud owner of one- a 3254CV that Oupa redid in Bocote with a copper shield. Excellent work, and a reasonable price tag. If I had the cash, I wouldn't hesitate to send another. :D

Please favor us with a picture, S&S!!

Each one of those knives dazzle and amaze me....all five together in one photo just astound me ! Wonderful workmanship...Congratulations to Dirk and waynorth !!!

-Cheers

Waynorth, the wood is Rhodesian Teak from an old railway sleeper I'm told.
Here is one I finished today and just put up for sale.
Northwoods Scagel clad in African Ebony and complimented by silver.
Snappy but smooth with a half-stop.
Simplicity - sometimes less is more.
