the onset of DirtTime 2009 has made me feel dirtier than ever.

....and i am a pretty dirty individual, so that is really saying something.

last year at DirtTime 2008, it was evident that the folks at Dirttime.com had a seriously-good thing going.

i will always proudly say, "We were there."

people that can't go, will never know....

cuz all good things are Dirty. - to some extent at least.

....so to commemorate the oncoming event (which we proudly are helping to sponsor), i have made the Dirty Dirty Comanchero, shown here with my favorite knife of all time, the Swenson Sabretooth, and a new Red Man Comanche Stadia Hawk.

Chloroprene friction plugs with stainless hardware in both ends of the .50 caliber polycarbonate Through Tube, which can be battened down to airtight seals when Dirt turns to Mud.

this Dirty Dirty Comanchero has a bit-aligned Cold Steel Trail Hawk atop our proprietary Gen 1 Mk 4-B composite handle - the 'B' signifies a new experimental butt cap we are trying out for greater strength and lighter weight and less volume - that's mass that we can now put into the handle for more strength without a costly increase in mass.

the Comanchero is as perfect as a hawk of this size gets IMHO at 19 inches and 20 ounces without hardware, 23 ounces with hardware and protective paracord wrap added.

the Comanchero's design harkens back to when the Hawk Project was new, and our Coyote Hawks were known for their simplicity of design, with their elegant black girder joints on the Strike Plates;

these Gen 1 Mk 4's are quite advanced from those earlier hawks, in all ways - they have a veneer micarta covering we call Snake Skin, which has a pleasant hand-friendly micro-pebble finish. this hawk also has the smooth Snake Belly finish on the Strike Plate with a classy simple black pinline that goes down the length of the face of the handle. the Snake Skin and Snake Belly option both add considerable strength to the design of the handle.

you can contact my Erica if you need any information on these hawks or others;

DirtTime 2009 is going to be a blast, if it is half as fun as last year at DirtTime 2008.

i think venerable-brother dude should have brother halcon (- two of the Event oragnizers, and very knowledgeable outdoorsmen) make a T-shirt that says:

"DirtTime 2009. If you weren't there, your name is Mud."

....har...!

i gotta make some more of these, i like 'em.

how many days 'til DirtTime 2009?

how many minutes is that? :D

whatever ya do, don't miss DirtTime 2010.

or at least, get some dirt time soon, preferrably with your favorite hawk and blade.

impatiently waiting for DirtTime 2009,

vec

Those do look sharp Vec, Erica sent me a photo of them last night while talking about the Commanche Stadia (which I am GOING to get), these do look great as well. Keep up the outstanding work. Cant wait to get mine, hopefully I am still stateside for a while. Want to get out there and do some hiking with it. Thank Erica for working with me on getting the perfect hawk.

vec: as usual Lookin Good.....have fun at 2009 Dirt time....
