Firstly, feel free to post up your dirty, semi-rusting, patina-ed, or just plain used ESEE knives and gear. I would love to see everyone's used and weathered ESEE knives:thumbup:
.
Here is my best example:
This Izula was stripped a while back and given a forced lime patina.
The pictures were taken after a decent hike up a stream in a tropical jungle.
Aside from the continuous rain, the Izula was submerged in the stream more than a few times. It did quite well
. About every 30 minutes I would take it out of its sheath and wipe off the oxidation-grit. The hike was about six hours, give or take. The knife was used to make a small amount of kindling, and to prep two hiking sticks.
There is mostly a healthy patina, with what looks like the beginnings of some possible red rust. I have been keeping a close eye on it since the hike, and the rust seems stable. If it gets bad I can just buff it out. To be honest, I kind of like the way it looks right now
.
Thanks for looking
