Disappearing Hinderer Items?

I was mulling over that 0566 (later) vs 0550 (now) question and started thinking about the really good deals on the 1st Gen 550s and how good the stonewashed blade would look with a Hinderer replacement scale in blue-black, and when I went back later to the Hinderer site the only option for the replacement scale was... pink. Not that wild about pink, really. I was sure that there were more colors available earlier in the day plus some other items. I wonder if they've dropped the 1st Gen replacement scales in order to tool up for 550 2nd Gen? But why would they leave the pink option? Joke? Am I just imagining that there were other colors of the replacement scales there earlier today?
 
Never mind. I guess I imagined it. Looking around the dealers there are only a few colors available and none are the kind of blue I'm looking for (like a Prussian blue). No problem, just an idea.

You beat me to it. I've been looking for a while for a 550 scale. They are the only ones I can find as well. You can always ask Rival for a custom scale. He does awesome work. It just may take a while cause he is always busy. Just a thought.
 
0550 scales and parts to mod go quick. Everybody has the same idea. If you ever find something "hinderer" you want in stock, grab it!

How true. Makes me kinda wonder about the frag scales. They are supposedly made by Hinderer, and yet they are always in stock. Maybe nobody likes the frag pattern. Hate to drop that kind of money and then not like them. Although the blue/black looks really cool.

Well, fortunately I like the tan scales on my 0561 just fine.

They always seem to have plenty of the XM scales too. I guess there aren't nearly as many people with XM knives that they want to mod?
 
I like the pattern on the 56x. The scale on my 550 is the only thing I don't like about it. May just end up getting one from Rival.
 
The ME Frag scales just look a little too blocky to me. Even with that though, I hate the stock scale on my 0550 enough that I decided to buy a Frag, then went to order it that night, and my color was sold out. I'm still debating on one or not. As said, it's a lot of cash for something you might not even like.
