I ordered two pocket pals last week, one in classic red and the other in Alox. They came in today, and I very excitedly opened the boxes. However, I was immediately met with disappointment.
I opened up the red Pal, and tipped the box over. The knife fell out...followed by the scales!!!! I was shocked, but they weren't broken so I just pressed them on. So, with the scales on I now inspect the knife. The first thing I noticed was a huge gap in the spring
I ignored it for the time being, and opened the blades to find them covered in black gunk of some sort. As an added bonus, they were dull! It seemed like my knife was destined for the trash bin and instead ended up at my house....
I am not expecting miracles, but come on SAK!
I cleaned and sharpened the blades, and pressed the liners to flatten some of the gap because I am not paying for postage to return a $15 knife. The knife is in decent shape now, but I have never had issues like this with any previous Swiss army product.
