Recently I recieve a new BK 11 csm to take its roll as my edc knife. The thing that drew me to this particular model was its laminated construction, not only functional with the ss outer (I live on the coast) but visually its impressive and thats important to me if i'm going to be carring the blade regularly.

That knife itself is fantastic, functional design, perfect size, great blade steel BUT crappy grinds. Looks like Kabar let a five year old do it. I'll let pictures show my disappointment .

For a $100 knife this is pretty unacceptable. When I researched this knife I did see other reviews with the same problems, but I hoped it was isolated early production problems. I was wrong.
Its not feasible for me to return the knife as I live in Australia, plus I like it (apart from the shoddy finishing) but I thought I would put this up here as a heads up to others and maybe in the hope that Ethan or Tooj might see this.
I would prefer the knife to have sharp edges rather than this mess.

not sure if these are just some of the last stock and it's coming up lately or what. weird.

afaik, these were made years and years ago, and they're just selling what they have in inventory, as they pull it from the "vault"... that is, they're not STILL in production.

that could (and should) be cleaned up on a belt, and rounded over nicely... i don't think my original of first batch is like that, but an intermediate one had slightly "hurried" effect here and there - hand finished for what it's worth from blanks cut the hard way - no cnc. current production models of the 11 and 14 have more machine cutting involved, and are more precise.

looks like the grinder skipped a little in the first picture. can't really see what the fault is in the others.

It almost looks like the ridges on the bottom of the handle in the first photo may add some grip....maybe....on the bright side........maybe
