i have done it...
put the blade in a vise.use a pipe wrench on the handle and turn.it will come off.the only thing holding it together is epoxy.

My buddy picked one up one time to look at it and the thing practically broke in half...they weren't the best made knives.

The best way to modify it is to replace the whole knife.

Take a whack at a few branches, and it should come apart right in two.

I know everyone is being kind of funny here, but in all seriousness, BE CAREFUL using it, before or after you mod it.

A friend of mine in Montana had one, and it was a good outdoorsy knife for a little while, then one day while he was clearing brush & cutting through a small limb, it finally broke, and he ended up with a large piece of the blade embedded in his forearm. Didn't hit anything important, but lots of blood & stitches.

I'd leave it on the wall, and get a tougher user.

I have a united rambo knife, I don't think rambo would have wanted to count on this knife. Hollow handle knives are cool but nuttin' beats a full tang.
