Being a slow day at work, I decided to clean my dog paws Sebenza. While putting the knife back together, I droped a screw, and the next thing I knew, I was on the floor looking for the missing part. In order to see better, I pulled a cord out of my way. That was when I felt something hot in the middle of my back. By moving the cord, which was attached to my laptop, I spilled my coffee. Quickly, I shut off the laptop and began cleaning up the coffee. Well, sometime during the cleanup, I knocked the Sebenza's blade onto the floor and lost one of the bronze washers. After about an hour of crawling on the floor with a flashlight, I finally found all the knife parts. The only casualty was a note pad and my shirt smells like coffee. Even the laptop will live.

I thought things like this only happened to me.... seriously I can take the easiest task and turn it into the Manhattan Project. And it's a shame because I like taking things apart.

Well at least you didn't get burned

Arthritic fingers and bifocals make a lot of tasks envolving small parts more challenging.

Wow, dont know wether to smile or frown...lol. At least the sebenza is together in one piece, the laptop is saved. Easily the two most expensive compared to the shirt and notepad.

Sympathies! :( Sounds like a bad skit on the Dick vanDyke show or something like that. :D I was waiting for you to write that the blade had fallen off the desk and pierced *you*. :( Good thing it's Friday...! :D

pvicenzi, Unfortunately YOU ARE NOT ALONE. In those circumstances I could see the coffee ruining the keyboard before spilling on my back.

I had to chuckle reading this:D Glad i'm not the only one who makes taking apart a Sebenza a disaster.

I once fell into the sea while fishing at 1 foot above sea level wearing a suit. Everyone watches me crawl out of the water. ^_^

Yea, I think most of us have been there done that. I have done things like that with much expensive brands of knives, now when I take apart knives, I make sure I have a clean large area to work with. Live and learn!

Hey dont be too hard when I was little one of my cousins temporarily drowned in the kiddy pool... you know 12 inches of water? She was probably about 7
Hell when I was still a "baby" my mom took me for swimming lessons, I was 3-4 years old according to my mum. The instructor picked me up and threw me in the pool, no helped swimming lessons just swim or die (well not die rofl they had like 8 life guards in just one pool precisely for infants.
One frantic mother and not even a minute later I was swimming. Guess my cousin was never thrown into a pool when she was younger, sucks for her.

Off topic but I was making instant oatmeal while answering e-mail. I spilled about a cup of boiling water on my laptop keyboard. Keyboard didn't work anymore but the computer survived. I still could use it if I attached an external keyboard to it.

I always use a wee box like this, I have had things roll off the table too but not lately. ;)

I just lost my blade stop bushing tonight!!!!:grumpy:

I lost my pivot bushing in the sink. Had the brilliant idea of running water on it. Went to CRK about 2 weeks ago, expecting it back in a few. Good to see I'm not the only klutz.
