Anyone love the sophisticated sport that is disc golf?

What do you guys use and carry?

I just ordered a Z buzzz, innova pro aviar, Pro Roc - and starting today, I will be carrying along a trusty large sebenza 21!

I'm an average leisurely player. I started off with just a midrange Roc. Later on I got a Shark, mainly just cause it has a shark on it. I'm not great but my throws and control are getting better.

I've played a few times, have a couple discs, but mainly it's just for hanging out with some buddies. There are 5 courses here in town too. I couldn't tell you what the discs are that I have, I know someone who is a grounds keeper at one of the parks with a course and he fishes the discs out of the lakes for me, lol!

It is a fun way to kill an afternoon, along with a six pack.

I have a small collection of discs that landed in my back yard and on my roof when I lived in the PRK. Eventually, the offending basket/hole was moved.

I would love to have that back yard!!!! ive found a few here and there at the park.... there is also a local sports shop owner that gets in his scuba gear to fish out discs at the lake.

No you wouldn't. It was very annoying to have these things hit your sliding glass door and have people climbing over your fence and onto your roof without asking. It took the threat of legal action to get them to move the basket. The main problem was that most of the folks who used the course were college students and a lot of beer was involved. Most of them had no idea what they were doing and rarely got even close to the basket.

The ones who did know what they were doing rarely threw wild shots and if they did and it landed in my back yard, they would ring our doorbell and politely ask if the could retrieve their disc.

My tenant ran over my basket, so no practicing at home. Honestly I did not practice that much. It felt like playing fetch without having a dog.

Lost two discs in one round recently. I got one back but I went out and bought three more anyway. Now I need to get to a field and figure them out. Unfortunately the best place for that is a course I am not a big fan of.

I joined a private couse near me this year and it is awesome. 27 Holes and not that crowded.

North of Eureka, on the coast.

I have not played any courses near Stockton. Grass Valley, Ukiah, Willits, Santa Cruz, Berkeley, San Francisco, but I think that is it for central California

I have been playing since 1983 - PDGA number 4426 -

I played pro for a while, got enough points to get invited to the worlds in 1989, but did not have enough vacation time to take a week off.....

I still have my invite thought, and a few discs that I bought - along with a ton of old discs that I either won or bought at the many tournaments.

Hardcore DGer live down the street from Aquatic Park in Berkeley Ca, one of the Bay Area/Norcal oldest courses. Just got back from a tourney at the brewery I work for.
Didn't play my best this weekend.

Pretty basic bag, Wizard putters, Roc mids, Leopards, Wraith/Destroyers most of the time.

I carry my BM 530 black coated/combo blade. Super light but still capable of cutting Bamboo or Poplar saplings to use to knock a disc out of a tree or pull it out of the lake.

I actually carry a wire survival saw in my disc bag for cutting dead branches out of the trees from other DGers yanking on the branches to free their disc. Dumba**es.

I used to carry the destroyer a lot. I think my furthest throws were with that disc sidearm. But then it got cold and i then had kids and stopped for a few years.... now im trying to get back in, but im definitely not good enough for tourneys.

Come on back! Disc Golf still loves you!

I played a course in Alabama that was built in '76 maybe '74. It was on a military base. I think it was around Huntsville.

Kind of funny to notice this thread today, I played with my wife and daughters this afternoon. My oldest recently discovered both golf and disc golf. I hadn't played since college so around 1980 lol. Disc's have sure changed since then lmao.

Put down the 40 mold, Dave......

Lol when I played way back when it was just a heavier larger frisbee, the little disks are sure different.

Yes - that is what I meant - they started coming out with disc golf discs around the 1980-81 time frame - until then we all used 40 molds - etc - for instance -
