Does anyone have info or a link to an attachment to a 2x72 belt grinder that allows a disc to be used to grind. I have seen them before, just can't find it now.

Thanks

John

Brodbeck Ironworks just released a disk grinder attachment, but it only works with their accessory arms. I also don’t think there is a way to use it with a work rest.

I haven’t seen anyone else release something similar, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

I forgot about the Coote having that option. I looked at their site and was wondering of anyone had any idea how the disk is attached to the contact wheel?

It says that the disc replaces the contact wheel retaining nut.

I copied my friend Bruce Bingenheimer’s setup. It works depending on the individual’s specific setup. Mine:
KMG grinder (non-tilting).
I mounted the motor under my bench and ran a belt up to the drive shaft on the left side of the frame through a hole in the bench.

After seeing Bing’s, I ordered a longer shaft and a pillow block to fit it. The longer shaft sticks out to the left, off the edge of my bench, the pillow block supports it. I then attached my disc to the end of the shaft. Bought a reverse switch for my vfd and now have a disc on the same machine.

For some people, it’s probably not ideal. For me with my work space, it works pretty well. I don’t have to put on/take off an attachment, I can just step around the end of my bench and use it. Was by far the cheapest way for me to get a disc set up in the shop.
