Discoloration: help. Fox Combative Edge M1

Hey,

I recently got a brand new Combative Edge M1, Fox knife version.

But after a few days I notice the area at the base of the thumbstuds is turning a dark green.

All I have put on it is a little rem oil.

Now I did get this knife to carry and do so. So it's not the blade nd of the world...but is a little irritating.

Any suggestions on what caused it?

A fix?
 
Maybe you could post a few pics? No idea what it could be, have you tried cleaning it off? Wd-40 and a rag?

I did try that...didn't come off.

Also I did try to take some pics but really hard to get a good visible picture of it.
