So I received my first Sebenza today and I was inspecting it like I do all my new blades and I noticed what looked to me like a burnt mark on the very tip of the blade. Is this normal or did whomever sharpened it at CRK burn the edge?

Not normal at all...

Send this pic to CRK and call them.

I contacted CRK and they said to send it in for warranty repair. Hopefully this "repair" doesn't take long. Really bummed that my first experience with CRK is a negative one... oh well.
Thanks for the advice guys!!!

Ask CRK to reimburse you for your ship'n costs.
That knife should have never passed finial QC inspection.

Did you purchase from an authorized dealer? If so, send it back to them and get a replacement. The dealer can send it back to CRK--no need for you to wait for it and deal with the hassle.

I did purchase it from an authorized dealer but the thing is the dealer is out of town attending the USN G6 show and won't be back until 9/11. So either way I'll have to wait but thanks for the suggestion tho.

I hope it's a new blade too.

By sending it to CRK you are agreeing to a "repair or replace" as deemed necessary or appropriate by the maker. My guess, is that they will likely grind/polish it out, but that is strictly a guess.

Whether you send it to CRK or the dealer (when they return) you will have some wait time. You may save a few days by sending to CRK, but if you send to the dealer you are guaranteed a new knife without blemish (assuming the next one doesn't have an issue!).

In the end, it will definitely be made right, so there really isn't a bad/wrong decision on this one.

Do I send the box, cloth, and birth card with the knife to CRK or do I just send the knife?

hope your knife doesn't come back with a mm less blade. I personally would fix it myself.
