Hi everyone,
I was looking at my Goddard Lightwieght the other week, and it seems that this wierd type of discoloration is forming on the blade, it is kind of a brownish hue, I hope it.s not rust, it sure doesn't look like it, I was just curious if this is normal, if I can fix it, and of course what it is . The knife though handles like a dream, with great ergos and not to mention that it holds a scary edge, forever,(sometimes I just look for an excuse to sharpen it with the 204

It probably is rust. Just make sure the blade is lubricated before you store it. My favorite is CRC 3-36. A silicone based lubricant found in most good hardware stores. I use it on all my knives. One of the neat things about it is that it more or less 'dries' on the blade. I use it on my dive knives. I've found that one good application keeps even my 440C blades completely rust free for at least a week of diving in salt water.
