We should get a list of discontinued models later this month and there will likely be some big discounts.
Any predictions?
I think the Colossus may be discontinued. They didn't switch the steel to S35VN which may be a clue. I'm thinking of getting one but I'll wait.
I could see the Night Force being discontinued although that's likely a lower volume knife (made in Italy) so I wouldn't expect big discounts.
And maybe the ProLite? I see it's on sale at Knifecenter.

Well, maybe they will post the discontinued list on Knife News like they did a couple of years ago.

Other than that, we will have to wait for the 2019 Cold Steel catalog, for sure.

At this point I have no idea what to expect new for 2019 either, as there hasn't been anything shown on social media.

There is supposed to be a feature on new knives for 2019 in an upcoming issue of Blade magazine though, so maybe something new from them might show up there.

I want a Colossus as well, and if it's on the disco list I will have to finally pick one up. I have a long tradition of liking knives that apparently just aren't commercially viable. I still wish I had picked up another coupe of Mini Tuffs when they were available.

Anyone going to the Parking Lot Sale this weekend?
Not with all of the smoke from the fires still lingering about. Seems to get worse each day. Airports have had to cancel flights due to poor visibility. Imagine driving several hours in this mess.

The Eland never appeared in any catalog. I haven't seen one for sale all year. I'm glad I picked one up even though it may not be safe for hard use.
I hope the Colossus goes on sale. I would snag one if I could get it for $100.
I think they will cut some machetes. The prices are really low at quite a few regular online, and big box dealers.

Cold Steel machetes are always priced really low, though. I got one of their kukri machetes at Academy Sports of all places for $20 a few years back, and Academy is always about as high priced as you'll find anything. I'd think they'd be a lot more likely to cut some of the more expensive stuff that isn't a big seller(not sure what all that could be, Collossus maybe).

On Instagram I saw that the Christmas specials will be on the Special Projects site starting Monday.

Colossus is now $99 on Special Projects site.
I didn't think it would happen anytime soon...........I guess I got what I wished for. Now I have to decide whether I want yet another cool, but impractical XL Cold Steel folder (#16);). I have also been very interested in the Rondel dagger, and they are on sale as well.

I asked myself a similar question and the answer was yes. :) Nice price on the Rondel too. Any other good deals?

Judging by past experience, how much of an indicator is it that certain models seem highly discounted in the Christmas sale going on right now?

If something is deeply discounted I think it's a strong indicator. Based on the price of the Colossus I'd say it's definitely discontinued.

The Swift and 2 colors (pink and grey) of the Broken Skull are also deeply discounted so they're probably gone for 2019. And who doesn't need an English Police Truncheon for $13? :)

Seagal's Helmet Breaker (XXXL can opener), and the Golden Eye are also on sale. I'm pretty sure I don't need a 'helmet breaker' though. I already have a War Hammer, and a Rifleman's Hawk .

I just saw some Mini Tuffs at Knife Center.

I just ordered one of those myself. Also grabbed a LaFontaine thrower, because, even though I don't know a thing about knife throwing, it still looks kinda cool.
